Hello,
Does anyone know how many Model 97 Trap guns, with 30" barrels, were made during WWII ? It has all the military markings.

Thanks for any help — Kent

Hello Kent,

I do not know how many were made, but it certainly was not very many. The vast majority of the WW II era Model 97 shotguns were Riot and Trench Guns.

Bert,
That’s what I figure as well.
Bruce Canfield said there is no way to tell how many of each version were made from Winchester’s records.

What is known, is that the total number of Model 97s manufactured from 12/1/1941 through 12/31/1945 was 39,438. Most of that number were Trench and Riot Guns based on my survey results.
