Came across a standard field grade 12 guage Model 50 in near new condition at a local gun shop today. It’s a plain Jane steel receiver model, but looks like it’s hardly been used. DOM is 1955. Asking price is $375.00, but I might be able to dicker a bit. I heard these have a pretty strong reputation, just can’t shoot steel shot. I’m not a duck hunter anyway. Does this sound like a decent deal?

Thanks Bert. I took your advise and bought it today. Talked him down to $350 with the $10 background check included. It’s an easy 95-98% after giving it a good cleaning. Not a mark on any of the bluing–just one small handling mark on the butt-stock. I’ve researched a bit today and didn’t realize the model 50 was a "Carbine Williams" designed shotgun–very interesting fellow.
