Good afternoon,

Does anyone know if the 1897 Black Diamond had flat top or pointed diamonds on its checkering pattern? Thanks in advance!

Pointed (sharp) diamonds.

Thanks Bert! All the ones I’ve ever seen had been worn so much that it was hard to tell.

LC Smith Guns have “flat” diamonds, consistently. Others as well, the Winchesters I’ve seen are all pointed, if not worn down as mentioned. I prefer the pointed ones. They are more grippy, for lack of a better term.
