I made the above comments because I’ve seen takedown rifles in pretty good shape otherwise, that locked up a little "sloppy". Seemed like a little slack in the barrel threads.

Gary, can you take a square on shot like this? I don’t know if it’s an optical illusion or my cataract but your picture makes the ejector notch look turned slightly beyond vertical. 😕

Here’s another pic but I cant seem to take one as clear as yours is. The notch does seem slightly off, but I sure don’t see any signs that the barrel has ever been changed.

Yes, along with the theory I mentioned above, I agree that the over tightening pushes the two components apart and as a result something has to give. The barrel threads are going to take the hit and over a long period of time the gap shows up.
