If I had one, I’d be shooting it on occasion but, alas, I do not own one. If you shoot yours, I’d be very interested in what kind of groups you get at 50 yards shooting from a rest, with specific types of ammunition.

Hi Win 38-55,
I shot my M-52-C Standard barrel with a Unertl scope last year in the Winchester Model 52 only matches for both group and score.

It will shoot in the low to mid 2’s at 50 yds and in the mid to high 7’s at 100 yds. using Eley Black Box ammo.

This year I’ll be shooting a 52-D heavy barrel with the same Scope and ammo, or I may switch to Lapua Midas + ammo, I hear it’s doing really well out to 100 rds. The D has a much nicer trigger so maybe I’ll be able to shoot better groups and scores with it.

Hello,

I am heading to the ranch this weekend and will take this rifle, which I have yet to shoot, along with me. If the wind isn’t blowing too hard I will report on the results.

Very nice M-52-B twobit,
Please give us a range report soon as you get the chance to shoot it.

Here’s a few Photos of the M-52-D I’ll be shooting in this years M-52 event. I call her my Red Molly.

I have an original scope (was my dads, think he bought it and never used it) from the 50’s for the 52 rifle mount (that is what I was told 40 years ago). In its red original box and papers…marked Bausch & Lomb, Rifle Sight, BALvar 24. It is in mint condition with perfect optics. Someday I might post it here in the classifieds if I can ever determine its value. I was told that BALvar stands for Bausch & Lomb variable sight. Sounds right anyway.

Edit: If anyone can give me a clue to value…would appreciate it.

Hi Tex,
I see the Bausch & Lomb 24 X every once in awhile on Gun Broker and e bay inr the $ 500. to $ 650. range. They are very good scopes.

Why dont you put it on a M-52 and use it in the shoot, I bet your Dad would really be prode to see you use it.

52-shooter: Thanks for the great info on the scope. I somewhere have a photo of it with the 52; I will try to post a picture this week in the Winchester Collector classified. Dad sold the rifle in the 70’s. Dont know why he did not sell the scope. Sure wish I had the rifle also; I would keep both.
