Does anyone have knowledge of the type of box ( color/design ) this first Winchester Commemorative came in ?

I’ve heard it was just a standard red Winchester box and not as decorative as future box editions.

Bill;

    The WY Diamond Jubilee box is black on red plaid with animals in the black squares. It has a big yellow block on the top center with red Winchester and black World Famous Firearms printed in the block. The end label says Model 94 ANTIQUE S/N WJ xxxx. It does not have a sleeve like most Commemoratives.  Two piece box.   This was the standard box for this time period.

Dick,

Thanks very much.

I’ll assume the end label can come completely off and leave the box color (underneath the label) showing, or most likely torn.

Bill;

    The end label on my WY Jubilee is fully intack. I did not spell it all out. I am sure it is the standard box of that time period. The label is a standand label for the 94 ANTIQUE made in th 60s with the WJ s/n. I can see a yellow border around the stick on label.

    Some day I will have to take the time to learn how to put pictures on this forum.
