I bought one around five years ago for just over $300.00.  It was a .30’06 Super Grade Box.  I haven’t seen  a Super Grade box for sell since then.  What caliber is your box?  There is no set price on these.  Since each box is serial numbered, and if someone has the rifle to go in the box, l can see that a premium could be offered.  If not then it would just be an example box kinda like mine is.  Post some pictures of the box including the end label with the serial number.  If they have the gun I’m sure that they would want your box.

The fellow to whom he sold the gun shipped in that box would sure as hell like to have it.  Though he might not be entirely thrilled it wasn’t provided at the time of the sale.

I cannot comment on box value, but I can relate a story.  I retired from the US Air Force in 2007 after 30 years of service.  To commemorate the event, my wife bought me a pristine Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Super Grade chambered in 257 Roberts.  I was more excited about the rifle than the retirement, to be honest.  About 3 months later, a box from the seller showed up in the mail….inside was my rifle’s original Winchester box.  He’d found it and all the paperwork in the attic and thought I’d like to have it, so he mailed it without fanfare or added cost.  He forgot the box existed but found it in a dusty corner while looking for something else.  Needless to say, I thanked him profusely.  The rifle and box are now a much prized part of my Model 70 collection.

And, NO, my wife is not available.  She’s a keeper for so many reasons…not just because she buys awesome gifts!
