A friend gave me a Winchester Model 43 magazine.  He does not know the caliber.  Is there any way to tell what is is?  Tried to look at ones that I see on the net, but the feed lips and followers all look the same to me.  Is this one size fits all?

In answer to your question “Is this one size fits all?“, the answer is No.  The 22 Hornet magazines were specific to that cartridge.  Winchester marked them on the lower side of the magazine. The 218 Bee magazines had two markings to identify them.

I have not yet encountered a Model 43 magazine for the 25-20 Win or 32 Win that was marked, and they are interchangeable.

There are also a fair number of aftermarket magazines, and none of them that I have seen were marked including those for the 22 Hornet and 218 Bee.

Guess this is a 25-20 or a 32-20 or an aftermarket.  Sorry your format will not accept photos from my computer.

They may be too large.  Try sending them directly to me – [email protected]
