Just finished reading this great book. I have also looked through all 218 pages of this forum reading everything on ’73s and a lot else (Very informative!).

In reading the posts I’ve noticed references to “errors” in this as well as in other books. I prefer another term because “error” is negative, as if had the author been more diligent then the information would have been more accurate. When in reality I can only imagine the hours effort that went into this fine book. As time goes on more information simply comes to light. If everything we work at needed to be flawless nothing would ever get done. These authors have forgotten more than I’ll ever know.

So my question – Is there a list of notes, revisions, corrections or updates to this and the Madis books?

For someone like me who is a novice collector such a list would be invaluable. I simply don’t have enough years left to become an expert…

I highly recommend that you sign up for a WACA membership, and then read through all of the articles written and published in “The WINCHESTER Collector” magazines available for members to read here on the WACA website. There are hundreds of updated (researched) tidbits of information contained within those articles.

Hey Bert,

I’m planning on doing so. I have a couple of low grade ’73s I need the numbers run on. I’ll want to post pics here once I get some time to take them as well.

I’m always trying to learn. For instance I read one post that said the 1 of 100 on the cover of the Lewis book is questionable. I’d love to know how that was figured out, but then again I understand the need to keep things confidential so as not to educate the forgers.

Just thought it might be nice to have an online addendum to the most popular books so that the latest info was available.

Just my novice 2 cents…. probably not even worth that.

Thanks,

Rod

If you have a question about the 1 of 100 on the cover call the Cody Museum and ask them since it is in the Museum.  Don’t worry the top forgers already know what to do.   I saw 2 fake 1 of 1000’s a few days ago.  One of the Bubbas was a little better at it than the other.
