As I have two 26”-barrelled rifles in my collection, I got to wondering, “When was the last RIFLE made?”
I have a 1908-era 32 Special octagon barrel, full length magazine . . .
And also a 1915-era, 30 WCF round barrel, full length magazine.
Thanks for any insight! —Jim
Bert will correct me but I believe they were catalogued until 1936 and the last rifle shipped several years later, I believe in 1950???

OfflineThe Model 94 Sporting Rifle was officially discontinued as of the January 1938 Catalog. The last actual “Rifle ” that I have verified is serial number 1663507 (assembled in 1952). Production was nearly non-existant as of 1933 (coincident with the introduction of the Model 64).

And don’t forget about my favorite of the 94 family, the Model 55, produced from 1924 to 1932 and only rifles. From the top, Model 1894 in 32-40 , Model 55 in 30wcf and Model 64 in 219Zipper.

OfflineMy 94 Centennial’66 rifle was made in 1966. I bought it second hand and I used to shoot it, the heavy octagonal 26in barrel made it quite accurate. I had better luck hitting targets with this rifle than with my 1957 20in 94 carbine. Both are in 30 WCF.
I know the Centennial is a commemorative (and it’s a post 64) but it’s a true 94 and a true rifle.

Bert you really know how to make me cry! I had a deluxe 64 in 219 and had to sell it. Then you go and throw out that 55 deluxe too. Only one I have ever seen. My god man have you no sympathy? LOL
