Saw a nice model 92 SRC at a local gun show, sn 995106. Is this too late to be a legitimate Sadlle Ring Carbine?
Not at all too late. The Model 92 production after about SN 980000 is dominated by SRC configurations. It is the OB sporting rifles that are relatively “uncommon” in this range. Did you happen to get any other information on the rifle? Did it have a full length magazine? Was the rear sight a buck horn style or a more common carbine rear sight?
