Amazing! The model “92” stamp appears to be a correct size. On the others that have been looked at, the ’92’ stamp is a smaller size. I would be interested in seeing the stamping on the bottom of the barrel.

Gentlemen,
That is a faked Model 53 rifle with a Model 43 barrel mounted on it. That serial number (985713) was previously a 25-20 WCF when it was recorded in the Model 53 survey in August of 2015. The original barrel was drilled & tapped for a scope, so it seems that a dishonest owner/seller decided to “upgrade it… FAKE!!

The seller changed to the description to be more accurate. I give him credit for doing that as many, if not most, internet sellers would not have. I think the asking price is very high but it’s not dishonest to ask a high price for a honestly described item.

I had a multi-message discussion with the seller via email, and I provided him with the “facts” about that rifle. To his credit, he has corrected the auction description accordingly.

A little late for the party, was thinking description was pretty close to Bert’s account. Price a bit optimistic for a parts gun but maybe he has too much in it. Will give him credit for making changes when called for, wonder if he got duped when he bought it.
