My recently acquired 1895 Russian Contract Winchester has some markings on the stock forearm that I have no idea where they are from. I reached out to the Cody firearms museum and they had no info on it on their end either. (I don’t know how to link pictures here so here’s a descriptor) On the side in the finger grooves slot there is a marking that looks like “<K>” and on the underside near the barrel band are two markings that look like “M” and “W”. Anyone know who marked the stocks of these things like this?
