Sorry if this question is posted someplace else. This is my very first question posted to this forum.
Considering the following rifle.
Winchester Model 1894 serial number 80**** Dating resource shows receiver made in 1915. No proof stamp that I can see on the reciever.
However Barrel is marked Model 94 Winchester-NICKLE STEEL-30W.C.F- -TRADEMARK- marked on a second line
Barrel has oval PW proof
Any ideas as to approximate year that this barrel was produced. Seems to me the barrel was added later than 1915.

If the serial number is in the 800000 – 809999 range, then yes, it is a 1915 receiver. Accordingly it should have the “WP” proof mark stamp on the top of the frame ring. The barrel marking you describe indicates that it was manufactured in the mid 1920s to early 1930s time frame. Sounds like a typical Frankenchester…
