Has anyone ever seen a 50 EX barrel marked Nickel steel or for smokeless? I think Winchester came out with 50-110-300 smokeless ammo about 1905. Thanks Lee

John Madl has 11 50cals listed as nickel steel, and there may be a few more in the unlisted late 86s

Hello Lee,

I have seen a 50 EX marked “NICKEL STEEL” just like the attached pictures below, but not with the 2-line marking with “For Smokeless Powder”.

Smokeless powder 50-110 and 50-100-440 cartridges were listed in the February 1899 Catalog No. 63 (pg 137).
