Bert I’m pretty sure this question is for you. I found a 1885 serial #87436. What caliber and barrel length did it leave the factory as? Thanks in advance. Neil

Based on the factory records, S/N 87436 was manufactured as a Plain Sporting Rifle (low-wall) in 22 W.C.F. with a 26-inch (std. length) octagon No. 1 barrel (also std.).  It entered the warehouse on 12/13/1900.
