I have a Winchester Trapper Model 1873 in 44-40 caliber with a bulged barrel.  The external bulge has been worked down, but the internal bulge remains.  Can anyone recommend an experienced high quality smith who does this work?  He will have to come up with a liner with 5 equal width lands and grooves, in order to be correct.

No need to recommend Wyoming Armory, as they won’t take anymore work for a year!  I just spoke with Mark there.

I check Redmans Rifling and they are also not taking anymore work until further notice.

Bear with me, I had a gunsmith install a Redman liner for me awhile back. He moved from WA to OR IIRC but it’s been a long day. He does awesome work. Will post his name when I recall it if someone else doesn’t beat me to it.

T&J’s liners makes a 5 groove 44-40 liner and John Taylor comes highly recommended.
