I first saw this rifle up for auction at RIA and sold for $800.  IT was then for sale at a Cabela’s for $1500.  What particular questions about it do you have?

I have a model 92 in 32WCF Ser# 490391. Mod92 is on the upper tang

Good morning,

Your rifle was manufactured during 1909.  IT is common in this SN range for the upper tang to be marked with the very small “MOD 1892” across the tang just beneath the hammer.  I do think that Winchester had an “Oops moment” realizing that the gun had NO model designation without it.  What configuration is your rifle?  Can you post or send me several images of it?  [email protected]
