Yes, because I heard of him only a couple of years ago, before he passed…

Didn’t know that for sure, but had suspected it. Used to run into him at shows many yrs ago, and observed some of the guns he bought to dismember–mostly “brown” guns with dinged-up stocks, which–30 yrs ago!–only beginning collectors would be interested in.  (Like me, when I was in high-school.)  Impossible not to like him, however, as he was a one-of-a-kind character.

Never met him but did speak with him on the phone several times over a couple of year’s span and got to like him from that.  He was quite the character and knew his stuff regarding Winchesters.

Meet him at the houstin show in 91, and invited me back to his home in Brazil TN. stayed with him for a week, he was an absolute gentleman and great fun to be around.his gun room out the back was chock a block with yellow boys and winchesters, and his parts room was huge.man he told me some great storys about collecting and how he got started years  ago .Still correspond with his daughter on FB. he passed couple years ago.RIP Albert.
