I’m a little confused as to when my 1894 Winchester was manufactured. Serial number 15021xx

According to the charts I’ve seen the serial numbers for 1948 ended at 1500000, yet when I run the serial number in the search engine on this site it shows as a 1948!

It also has the flat barrel band which I understand ceased to be used in 1948.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Serial number 1500000 was not the last serial number in the year 1948… in fact, it was far from it. It was presented to them President Harry S. Truman on May 18th, 1948.

Your Flat-band was manufactured in late May of 1948.

I’ve got a ’51 model in nice shape, but mine may not be a ’51 after all. That’s what the local seller told me, but he may not be correct. I need to get the # off mine, also!

Hey, Bert

Is that a typo or did Truman really get that gun in 1950?
