Photo #7 is the Cody research form stating 1900. He is clearly breaking the law advertising it as a no-FFL antique and contradicting himself in his own listing. What an idiot…
Very reckless on his part.
In this case, the seller is not “reckless”… he is just plain outright stupid.

I think Clarence is probably right. Antique status doesn’t matter if a transfer does not occur. Something else is going on here.

Yes Steve I did that , that was My display last year at the Calgary show, all the pre 1900 production lever guns in carbine , rifle and musket, and yes a number of years back I had 1 complete set of commemoratives and 2 other sets that were missing a few of the really hard to find ones like the U.S. Constitution and the R.C.M.P. presentation, I sold 450 commemoratives to one fella in Quebec, that was a big check. Unfortunately I don’t have the resources to keep everything, so when I fill a collection I keep them for a spell then part them out to pursue other interests, right now I’m working on putting together a display of 1894’s, 94 guns in 94 various configurations,. It shouldn’t be to difficult seein’ as there are about 8,000,000 of ’em.

Except when it comes to the M1894 musket!
Putting collections together can be fun – figuring out a specific grouping that strikes a person. I recall a collection of M1873’s up for sale a few decades back – every barrel length from 24 inches through 36 inches. Obviously, some of those were harder to find than others
Last week I acquired a 1906 Model 1894 Sporting Rifle, 26” round barrel with full length magazine tube and tang sight in 32 WS. And today I acquired a 1905 Model 1894 Sporting Rifle, 26” half-octagon barrel with half length magazine tube and .32 Winchester Special Smokeless Rear Sight, also 32 WS with a Cody Letter. When it rains, it pours!

Nicely done! Sounds like you’re a member in good standing of the “Gun of the Month Club”. All kidding aside we never know when that special gun (or guns!) might come along, just need to be watching and ready.

But still an interesting project. It wouldn’t be near as many specimens but doing one for every year of Model 1886 production would be fun to see. I’m not surprised to hear the ’94 collector was an interesting fellow.
And the provenance must be priceless!

Halved the previous price, but shipping still a modest $500; delivery by private courier, I guess.
