As much as you guy’s made me laugh at your posts,, I have to be myself and just keep going!
We all seem to go after what we like, as our likes overlap, and in a very good way. The Winchester brand will live on in us as long as we keep it going. My old friend Bill, who we worked together for a long time, and is in a Nursing home, as he used to say, “Nothing Lasts Forever, not even You and I”, and with that always in our minds, as we’re caretakers of these fine Winchesters, and share our likes, I want to revisit the OP, first ask!
“What to Buy”?
I find myself separating my, “Wants and Needs”, constantly! I have to take a step back and think about and ponder on occasion as I always found interest in more than one thing. With that in mind, at 66 yrs old now I have been kinda doing what Burt has been doing and streamlining my Collection, and tailoring it more towards what my two sons and they’re boys might like. Sometimes it’s hard to do that but all in all, I’ve managed it pretty well. IMO!
“What to Buy”?
Buy what you like! Condition, rarity, and $$$, is what it’s all about! IMO!
I sit back and think about what I really enjoy looking at and holding! A lot of questions get answered by themselves, if I’m paying attention! IMHO!

Many of you know that I traveled with a collector/dealer for many years that had a lot of rifles restored. It is expensive to do a top of the line restoration. First you have to buy a rifle worth restoring then all of the parts and labor. 6K to 8K is not unheard of. But, surprisingly to some, there is a market for these rifles. Just not me.
