Got this recently from a friend thinning out his collection. It is a standard SRC in 30 W.C.F # 306366, shipped in 1906 with one other SRC just like it. Early carbine with no magazine screw and the bbl. proof is in front of the rear, Express sight. How did this carbine survive 109 years to be in this condition? I am trying out my photo post skills here again. Big Larry
Hey There Big Larry, ,
That is a Very Nice 109 year old Winchester Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine ya got there.
I would suspect that the Original Owner, valued what they bought with their hard earned money Back in The Day. You can see that they did use it, but very little. Evidently, after it was used they wiped it down, cleaned out the bore and stored it until being used on the next hunting excursion.
I wanted to go on about this subject, but I will refrain from doing so, as I get carried away.
So, in closing: Your pictures are very nice, along with Your Examples,
hokie

Hey my friend. I have a couple more near as nice. A 25-35 that I bought from our friend Rick Hill, and a 1913 vintage SRC I bought about 14 years ago at a gun show at a Utah College. Yep, a College gun show. Thanks, Big Larry
