My first impression is that it looks to good in the pictures and a real good chance that it is a restoration. Past experience with Cabelas is you never really know until you see it in your hand. Comments?
When I first saw this gun it was listed on Guns International. I am unable to get the pictures to increase in size enough to really see much detail. The screw heads & screw holes looked OK. The wood, % of blue, & case color at first glance looked suspiciously good.
I just looked at the gun on Cabelas own web site. The Cabelas site allows you to zoom into pictures and yes I can now see the wood is undersized in a few places. Photographs of blue can be deceiving depending on angles, lighting, and editing. Besides the wood, what else looked off?
The sling ring stud is not indexed properly. It should be parallel with the receiver top and the forward wrist of the butt-stock shows oil staining which could not be removed when the stock was refinished. Also, the bluing color is off – too cloudy.

If you have a Cabela’s nearby they will ship it in for a nominal fee. Nice looking restoration.
