I am on the fence, just need some Model 61 advice to tip me one way or the other. I don’t know if 61s are going up, down, or flat. Person wants to sell me a Model 61, s,l,lr, made 1960. Perfect bore. Grooved receiver, with a nice Lyman Alaskan scope and original sights. Blue is 100%. Butt stock has some light marks. The forearm sides are nice, but the flat bottom has numerous scrapes, obviously someone rested it on a hard surface when shooting. He is firm at $850. Don’t have pictures.
There would be 2 schools of thought. One would be keep togeather , it keeps originality and it is chronologically correct.
The other is sell separately, there’s more profit in it for ya.?

Buy it yet? I generally give nothing for scopes, looks like a good price for the rifle a la carte. I don’t know why you’re asking that question here, I doubt I’m the only enabler around here.
Good morning from northern Michigan,
Based on your description and assuming it is 100% original it sounds like a good deal for sure. I would love to add the gun into my survey if I can get the serial number please?
