Hello,
this musket is one of the many despatched to France for the Franco-Prussian war.
Can you please confirm the rear sight is correct to the gun.
I also have two questions on the markings:
What does the B after the serial stand for?
What is the signification of the arrow like stamp ?
Many thanks in advance.
The sight is typically seen on Henrys. I would look for wear marks on the barrel where it touches to see if its been on the gun a long time.
The B is a inspector stamp.
The arrow might just be a typical mark from the gun getting bumped.
