Alpen being a modern engraver, Poulin’s estimate of $2250 to 3250 seems right. I think the wood hurts the value, if it had a Winchester look with better figure and carving/checkering maybe $5000. These kind of guns are not sold to people I know. T/R

T/R I didn’t know what to think about it. I know Poulin historically gets some nice stuff in their auctions.

Rick, I look at the gun from a Winchester collector’s point of view. Yes it is a old gun, but it is customized and looks like a commemorative. The engraver did a nice job, but modern. The wood is new, but does not have the Winchester look or quality. If you build a custom gun it’s hard to get your money back. T/R

I’d hate to know what someone spent to customize this gun. I hope he liked it.
