… here is a M1895 flatside with sights that letter.  And what makes this rifle of exceptional interest is that the barrel has been ordered with no rear sight seat.  Pretty cool in my book:

That is pretty cool.  I have a model 1894 that letters with no rear sight seat, and Lyman Receiver sight.

Very nice!  It reminded me of this one that has cool sights that would likely letter if letters were available for its time period:

Very nice looking carbine.  And a bonus  – a .32 special.  Oh, and it is a flatside as well 😉

I like SRC’s with the Lyman receiver sight.  Some people feel it creates too much clutter – but that’s not my perspective.

Thank you, steve004!

I had always wanted a Winchester with such a sight and after about fifteen years I was able to pick this one up!

A Model 1895 Sporting Rifle without the rear barrel dovetail, or rear seat, is definitely one of the rarer options.

That’s a very nice SRC.  I too, like the Lyman Receiver sight.

Thanks for the picture,

Al
