Hello Jason,

Absolutely No, it was not engraved and carved by Winchester. The stock is not even a Winchester product.

Jason,

What is the serial number on your Model 70?  I can not see it where it should be?

No, I have not seen similar guns like it on the internet… but that means absolutely nothing.

Your M70 was serialized in September of 1961….

If you can’t convince them, confuse them

I recently posted a couple pics in this section ‘Non factory engraved Winchesters’ , where the engraving was done in the ’50’s by a German master and signed A.Reich Darmstadt.

Not knowing much about engraving , it looks similar to your style. Yours is Probably German (if not even the same engraver , or associated company ) there is not much info on the Net that I could find

One thing I noticed in your pics is the ivory inlaid diamond . I also have the ivory diamond very similar that I didnt picture, but will try to post a pic later

Do you have any Stamping of a name or a engraver ‘signature’ ? (maybe very small)

My sense is that there is a very specialized (limited) collectors market for this gun….

If you can’t convince them, confuse them
