Well Sam,

Before you damage the Model 55 Winchester, trying to take it down.

Why not just put it away for now, take it to the Reno Show with you,

I’m sure Bert will show you how the Take Down System works…..

Sam,

Hokie expressed a great idea… bring it to Reno, and I will help you take it down.

This is an old rusty rifle I got it with other barn rifles. I will bring it to Reno Show.

Thanks

Sam,

Buy yourself a can of Kroil penetrating oil, and apply it to the take down extension joint. I suspect that may take some effort to get the rifle apart the first time.

It will not help by putting the penetrating oil on the lever. You need to get it on/in the part of the receiver where is screws in.
