Henry – VERY NICE and, RARE.  Say, the Holy Grail out the is the 1894 musket, correct?  In fact, maybe it is a lot like the Holy Grail in that there is only one?  Maybe two?

I think they made 5 or 6 ’94 musket prototypes , but I believe there’s only 2 known of and they never went into production . It sure would be nice to have one in My collection but I;m not holding My breath. The ’86 and ’76 are proving to be tough enough. I know where there is one of each but the ’76 has parts changed and the ’86 makes Me nervous and it’s really expensive for the condition.

Based on the information I have in the research survey, there were at least (5) Model 1894 Muskets manufactured;

Serial numbers; 418972, 500772, 503008, 853503, and 857937.

I suspect there are more than five but since there are apparently no records of a group of them manufactured it’s far from certain. From what little I know about you, Henry, I feel pretty certain you will prevail and I’m looking forward to hearing about your acquisition. Happy hunting!
