The seller will regret his action someday if he cons the wrong buyer and takes him to court for fraud. Its happened before when more money was on the line.

I read an article sometime back about investors branching out into old firearms to go with there Art. We all know about the brokers in this business that have spent some time in the big house.

Well, it looks like this guy will not be selling altered Winchesters for quite some time. Poetic justice.

He just sold one if it is the same person… I was under the impression that the seller’s name is William Ross versus “Ros”.

If it’s the same guy, there probably won’t be much in the way of warranty on the guns he’s selling now.
Well, this gets interesting. The same town? I thought NANZCA bought a Winchester from this guy.

My point is that “William Ros” is a convicted Felon… and legally can not sell or deal in firearms (even antique firearms). I sincerely doubt that it is the same person.

Why does none one contact NANZCA and ask for the the name and address of this guy?

I believe a request was made for the name of the seller but I didnt see anyone provide it. Nanzca has been posting so if he knows, maybe he will share it.
Nanzca did send me the sellers name and address… and that is why I stated I do not believe that it is the same person. The names are very similar, as is the state they live in, but it is unlikely that the CFO of Popeye’s is the same person who sold the misrepresented Model 1873 on Gunbroker.
Update: Casey (Nanzca) just informed me that he mis-interpreted the name he sent me in an email, and that in all likelihood, the seller is the same person who is in legal trouble for embezzlement. If that is the case, I doubt that he will be selling anything on Gunbroker in the future.

The U.S. Attorney could look into his selling these guns also. Especially if he can tie the original purchase of those guns to any of the missing money. I can’t see the buyers being in any trouble, but I’m sure the U.S. attorney and Bankruptcy court will want to know where the money went from the sale of those guns. Sounds like the seller is trying to stash some cash.

I totally agree. He’s raking in money that should not belong to him.

Would they want the guns back? If they do then Nanzca might be out a few bucks.

I am sure they already monitor his finances. He is probably just selling his Winchester collection to help pay restitution.

Also odd that the piece was made in 1911 but no FFL is required by purchaser.
Now I think we know why…Trying to hide a high-dollar gun sale through an FFL transfer may not work so good.
