Serial number 32994 shows 1879 year built,,,see no caliber markings ….any way to match caliber to serial number? Sorry for a novice question

Its going to 44 caliber since its a early second model. Winchester didn’t mark the early 44’s since they only made one caliber and even when they came out with the 38’s they continued not marking the 44’s for a while.
