I purchased a pre owned rifle yesterday and decided to do some research on it. Browning/Winchester told me it was manufactured in 1998 but had no other attributes listed. The Cody Museum said thay had no information on it so they referred me to this forum. The funny thing about this is everything on the internet says Winchester never made a left hand Sharpshooter. Did I accidentally buy something special or is it just another rifle?

Your Model 70 was actually manufactured by the U.S. Repeating Arms company (USRACo). It falls into the 25+ year information gap between the Winchester (Olin Corp) and the Browning Arms Co (BACO) production of the Model 70. We (WACA) do not have access to any of the USRACo production records, and the whereabouts of those records are unknown.
