Looking for help in restoring a model 64 , 32 special made in 1940 to good serviceable shooting order.Last Septemeber a Local Gunsmith withwom i had dealt for over 35 years recommended a Wiconsin guy to reblue, I said Ok, gunsmith disassembled, sent off to have metal refurbished, I took stocks and re finished with pilkington’s and African Express. Came out nice and then had Classic Checkering add the simple pattern found on the deluxe models to this basic rifle. When firearm came back form re blue i did not immediately inspect for parts, etc just looked at the action, barrel ,etc and was happy. When strock came back from checkering in June I started to reassemble myself since the gunsmith closed their doors for good in April. I discovered the butt plate missing, the screwfor the for end cap missing, etc. The fore end cap screw holes aree larger than standard now, not sure why. I am looking to get this firearm back together since I plan to hunt deer and hogs with this, and let the youth hunters I guide also use this nice, ight yet powerful centerfire round. Any one I shoul talk to about my dilemma?
