Bert, if it is WRF they all count. One of my guns is a family gun and it has shot anything we could find over the past 99 years.
It is 22 W.R.F. and with the cupro-nickel plated cases. Remington advertised is as “Remington Special”.

Bert –
This is a good additional point. The Remington Special adds greatly to the ongoing confusion out there. A lot people don’t realize when they see a Remington rifle or Remington ammo in .22 Remington Special, that it is the same chambering/cartridge as the .22 WRF. Hence, more confusion to the puzzle.

About 20-years ago I bought a pile of it for $5 per box. I used one box to prop up one of my high-wall rifles for this picture…

Bert’s just going to confuse the masses by putting that WRF box under the rifle stamped 22 LR.
R-word ammo as a photo prop for a fine Winchester rifle! Sacrilege!

That’s a nice looking rifle Bert.At least the box notes that it is also a .22 WRF. The Remington rifles I’m thinking of were only marked .22 REM SPECIAL. A lot of buyers didn’t know they could buy a Winchester box of .22 WRF and it would work just fine in their rifle.
High-wall with a 30-inch No. 3 octagon barrel, Lyman No. 5B combination front and No. 2A rear, single set trigger. It weighs nearly 13 lbs, and it shoots standard velocity 22 LR in the same hole at 50-yards (or it used to when I could still see the front sight sharply).
