Rodger,

Did you use the correct look-up resource on the WACA website?  What is the serial number on your Model 55 rifle?  If it is in the 1 – 12002 serial range, you need to scroll down and select the “Model 55” serial number look-up.  If your Model 55 has a serial number that is greater than 12002, you will need to select “1894 55 & 64” model selection.

With the serial number I can provide you with the exact month in the year 1926 that it was manufactured, and with the S/N & caliber, I can add it to my research survey.

Roger,

That is one of the Model 55 rifles that I had already entered in my research survey document.  Per the factory records, it was manufactured on 11/11/1926.

Of the 1,523 Model 55 rifles I have documented in the survey, 359 of them are 32 W.S. (23.5% of the total production).  After I finish writing the article on the late production Model 1886s, I am planning to write an updated (revised) Model 55 article to supplement the article I wrote and published back in the Winter 2012 Winchester Collector magazine.

Thanks,

Bert
