I recently bought a winchester model 54 in 270 WCF that appears to be a standard 20. I haven’t been able to find a lot of information about production numbers and was wondering if anyone knew how many (approximately) were produced/how rare they are.

There are no surviving records to research and provide us with the production numbers for the Model 54. That stated, there is a research survey in progress to document as many of the surviving Model 54s as possible. If you will provide us with the serial number, that will help to document one more specimen.

I currently own 2 model 54s. The aforementioned standard 20 in 270 WCF serial number 1043 and a standard model in 30-06 serial number 25211A.
