Hi all. I’m no expert but I believe I have a Model 54 in .30-06 manufactured in 1932 with a Lyman peep sight and target blocks.

Can anyone tell me if this is correct and potentially more details/observations? About how much would this rifle be worth if I sold it?

Any help is much appreciated!

The proof steel barrel indicates that it is a 1932 (or later) production rifle.  The scope blocks are an after market alteration.  The sling stud in the butt stock is also an aftermarket added item.  I see an area on the barrel (above the caliber marking) with heavy rust pitting.  Based on the alterations and condition, it is a “shooter” grade rifle.

Thank you for the assessment, Bert. What do you think is a fair price for this rifle? I will likely list it for sale (either locally in western WA or on GunBroker).

I simply do not have a good answer to the value question.

Put it on Gunbroker or Guns International and let the market set the price. I would think you could get $800 or so minimum as a shooter.

Grip cap is not original to your gun

The Lyman 48W is worth at least $200.00

Any holes in the bridge?

$1,000.00 + or –
