Are model 53’s rare in takedown?  I know that the 44-40 in takedown is a rare rifle but what about the other calibers?  Looking on the gun websites it seems that there are as many solid frames as there are takedowns.  Does anyone know the breakdown on this model when it comes to solid frame vs takedown.  Thank you for your response.

Based on the current numbers in the research survey, No, Take Down Model 53 Rifles are not rare.  In the research survey, we have recorded (298) Take Down rifles out of a total (933) rifles, which is 32%.  The 44 WCF is the least common cartridge found in the Model 53 at just 14.9% (139 of the 933 in the survey).  Of the (139) in 44 WCF, (38) of them are Take Downs.
