Just sent off a pile of cash for a fairly nice M53 solid frame in 44 WCF. Ser. # 507. This is one of my Grail guns. Have owned a 32-20 but never the elusive 44-40. Probably will take it to my range for a 100 yard test and Ren-Wax it and put it away.
Now to find period ammo for it. Big Larry

While my BIL was here, I traded him for his real nice M53 solid frame 1925 vintage, # 4333, in 32-20 cal. Has a Lyman 1-A tang sight along with the original rear sight. All of a sudden, I have 2 M53’s to go along with my 2 M55’s.
Paid 5X’s the $$$ for the 44 caliber, but it was a Grail gun and it is very nice. Maybe 80-85%. Big Larry
