A friend of mine has a Model 1910 manufactured in 1911.The serial number is stamped on the side of the receiver.However a letter and different number is stamped on the barrel.What does this letter number mean?The letter number is W2720.

I dont know if this helps or not but this auction is for a 1910 that is labeled W 873 as part of the Winchester factory collection.
WACA No. 9886. Constantly learning about Model 1907 and Model 1910 Self-Loading Rifles.
