Good morning, this rifle serial number is 236608 giving it a manufactured date of 1904. I was able to get it from a friend and I thought it was in pretty good condition with the mismatch at the upper tang looking more likely related to some damage to the stock rather than refinishing. I would appreciate any thoughts on where you would put condition of this rifle and its value? Thank you!E8661CDE-A6E3-45DC-858F-9EFB67471807.jpegB7073ADA-7788-4051-8645-EF9B3937C874.jpegCAE7B59C-9FC3-476B-B0D4-D0E293F8512E.jpeg33458C5C-52C6-4FA9-8B6A-2652DD1B5F20.jpeg8C1E41BB-D55C-4FB2-9E57-8BB70B929720.jpegD7827A53-1906-4C90-9030-E3FE052EA993.jpeg6FF9E5B3-9231-4126-AEEA-2C27F0C9A675.jpeg

Please keep in mind these are My thoughts only, maybe someone else will see something I am missing. From the pictures (not really clear), I believe the gun has been sanded , at least the wood , and refinished, the metal I can’t tell. If it has a good bore it would still be a good shooter, but not a collector grade gun.  It has a good tang sight and the oct. bbl.is a bonus. I think the gun would retail in the $800.00 – $900.00 range. I hoe this helps You out. I’m sure some others will chime in.

Good morning,

I would concur that the wood has been sanded and refinished.  It should fit as shown in the attached photos.
