I was wondering if this barrel was shortend or could this have been short from the factory? Would this gun have been refinished, or is this the original finish? From what I found, gun was produced in 1901. I have submitted a request from Cody Firearms Records but was wondering if anyone had any insight on this rifle in the meantime. Also is there any reason that I should not post the serial number, is that a security risk of any kind?

Ted,

What is the serial number on that Model 94?

The barrel is not original to the receiver frame as it is approximately 25-years newer.
