Good morning,
This rifle was sold at Poulin in December and it letter as having a shotgun butt. Now it is offered with a typical rifle butt. It appears that the carbine rear sight was most likely original to the gun though it is not mentioned in the letter. The bluing wear on the barrel supports this. https://www.gunbroker.com/Item/1086700679

The first two pictures show it with a rifle butt stock meant for a crescent butt plate which someone quite inexpertly tried to turn into a shotgun butt plate. The top of that stock shows where wood has been added to try to disguise where the crescent butt plate would have been.

Predictions what it will sell for? I don’t think it’s a bad looking rifle. I wouldn’t hold the buttstock swap against it much.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it sells for around $1500 to $1800. There are a lot of guys who won’t care about the non original state of the gun. The 38 WCF is a plus and of course the half octagon barrel is going to get some guys interest. And the seller has a very good following of guys who are willing to spend soem money.

$800 at Poulin is not bad at all. Worth a buy and stock swap IMO. He’ll do well assuming he bought it, bet he doubles his money.I’ll put it in my watchlist and try to report back.
He tends to do quite well on the guns he buys and flips. RARELY does he ever loose any money. I have watched a couple hundred of his sales.
