I’ve had my model 1886, (1889 vintage) for over 20 years now. I’m wondering, if the fact that it has a single set trigger, (forward set), is a rare factory option?? It is probably NRA Good, as it has all the honest wear that it should have. The stocks are all there, (no chips), with normal small dents. The same with the barrel & receiver.Good clean stampings and a mirror bore. Anyone have a clue what an ’86 with the above characteristics is valued at? I’ve checked all the on line gun selling sites but haven’t come across one with a single set trigger. It looks like an early un-messed with ’86 is going for around four grand, but none with a SST. Would appreciate any of you Winchester Gurus out there to give me an opinion.  Thanks,  Roger

Roger,

A clean Model 1886 in 45-70 is usually going to be worth more than $4K, not including a factory set trigger. If you can do so, post some clear detailed pictures of your rifle so that we can evaluate it.

Hi Bert thanks for the reply. As a guest I don’t think that I can post photos. My email is [email protected]. If you email me I will send pics back to you. I appreciate your help. When I click on the attachment button it is asking for source picture size etc.   Roger
