OfflineI have seen this barrel marking once before on an 1886 Winchester. This barrel marking is from an 1885 high wall in .22 LR. What could “Made To Order” mean in a .22 other than barrel twist? Has anybody seen this in a Winchester catalog, a “Made To Order” reference for barrels?

OfflineI had a Marlin Ballard , heavy barrelled, Scheutzen rifle with similar stamp “Made to order for the Marlin Firearms Co. by the Winchester Arms Co” . It was in the Marlin ballistics room for a long time.

What is the serial number on this rifle? I do not remember seeing a notation in the ledger records that matches the barrel marking, but may have missed it.
