OfflineI paged through Whittaker (copyright 1978). Unless id missed one, apart from a couple close-up photos of the caliber designation stamp, the only 9 M/M M70 rifles he pictures are:
Photo 12-1 (no serial number printed). Photo of the barreled action removed from stock with the statement “This rifle is now in a Texas collection”.
Photo 12-2 (S/N 29393). Belonged to Roger Rule. The barrel date stamp was 1947 (too late for the serial number).
Maybe its the rifle in photo 12-1? Does the “provenance” in the caption help?
