Late Model 1894 Identification|Winchester Rifles|Forum|Winchester Collector

Hello All,

Im new to the forum and I have been searching around this wealth of information and still cant seem to find what I’m looking for. I recently purchased a model 94AE from a local shop. Used but appears to be in excellent condition (maybe unfired). However, after quite a bit of searching I cant seem to find exactly what model it is. Here is what I’ve got….

The barrel is stamped “Winchester MODEL 94AE CAL 30-30WIN.”

The barrel is 24″

The serial number is 6468935

There is no tang safety, BUT the tang to wood fit is not great at the base of the tang, as if maybe the stock may fit a gun with a tang safety?

The wood is beautiful!

Wondering if anyone may have any idea what exactly I have. It kind of looks like a Legacy model but the ones I have seen have tang safetys. Thanks a bunch all. This forum is really cool. Excited to be a part of it. (got my on an 1873 next 😉
