Also… Where would I buy jacketed bullets for a 40-82? I know buffalo arms has some. Is there a way to make some.

I don’t have a lubrisizer or anything like that, I resize my cast on an original Idea tool made quite a few decades ago… is there a way to make some or?

Hawk bullets are available in Canada through Summach Sports. If they have the bullets in stock ,all well and good.It they have to order them ,then it could take some time before you get them. Have always used Barnes bullets in my .50-110 rifles, but wanted to try some .50-110 Hawk bullets.Had to order them and it was over a year before I finally received them.I suppose Hawk only makes a run of these bullets every so often and that would account for the long delay.Smile

Barnes use to make a .406 dia. bullet, but do not know if they still do or not.

in my 1886 in 40-82 i use RL-7 with corn meal as a filler with a cast bullet or jacketed bullet. it shots quite well ( 2″ or better at 50 yards) and i have killed deer with it, buts its a heavy bugger.

Yeah, they are heavy, but pack a nice punch. Mine has the button mag so it shaves abit off the weight but still…
